In a little over a year, post the pandemic, consumers had come to expect contactless order fulfilment from fast food restaurants. As most of us know from first-hand experience, many restaurants were not prepared for the surge of demand for customer pickup, as well as the onslaught of third-party delivery pickups by the likes of Swiggy, Zomato and Uber Eats. Quick service restaurants (QSR) struggled to manage the scrum.

CRD was appointed to make the efficiency of the outlet to match the remote kitchen food delivery to guarantee hygiene through correct circulation and space planning. The challenge was to make the outlet an eye-catchy brand icon through its existing branding when the QSR had become the need of the time.

We designed the spaces, no matter what the size was with a separate/distinct order pick-up zones, order kiosks or walk-up order windows. The outlets were designed with digital menu boards for contactless selection of the orders. Well ventilated with correct fresh air and exhaust system were planned to keep the space airy and hygienic.
“We eat with our eyes.” So says the International Association of Color Consultants & Designers. The fast-food space is keenly tuned into the psychology of color. Psychology tells us that red, the most commonly used color in fast food, stimulates the appetite and can aid in increasing food sales. (Red table tops are believed to increase the amount of food consumed by diners.) Red is attention-getting and effective in signage for that reason, we used it extensively on the outlet facades and counters to get the appetite high.

Interior finishes were restricted to metal and tiles to keep the space clean and healthy. Modular SS food preparation and cooking equipment with an open kitchen concept made customers feel the transparency and trust, the brand was building. The red and white tile highlighters were complimented with a rustic concrete finish flooring. The walls and counters were highlighted with flexible brand vinyl and frames along with a digital food menu over the counter.

Just to top it all, we were approved to design & build their office at Omkar – The Summit Business Bay, Andheri East. We carried the concept though the outlets to the vibrant colors in the office, our first D&B since our inception. TIBBS frankie was the stepping stone to ignite our journey towards the D&B industry.
